Andrew Seel '24

Andrew Seel is a senior at St. Luke’s, starting on the Hilltop in sixth grade. He began learning violin at age 5 and piano at age 6.

As a pianist, Andrew has participated in a large number of recitals, festivals, and competitions, and in recent years, won awards which include: Schubert Club of Fairfield County Annual Piano Competition Romantic Senior 1st Place (2023), Bach Senior 1st Place (2022), Bach Junior 1st Place (2019); Audrey Thayer (CT Music Teachers Association) Annual Piano Competition 11th &12th Grade 2nd Place (2023), 10th Grade 3rd Place(2022); Greenwich Symphony Orchestra 2022 Teen Talent Contest winner of high school division; 45th Renee B Fisher Annual Piano Competition high school division 3rd Place (2022); Suzanne Culley Annual Piano Competition Young Artist and High School Category 2nd Place (2022 & 2021); Viva-Music International Online Piano Competition 1st Prize (2021).

As a violinist, Andrew has been a member of Norwalk Youth Symphony since 2017. He currently plays first violin in its Principal Orchestra and was concertmaster of its Concert Orchestra in the spring of 2021 and assistant concertmaster in the fall of 2019. His ensemble work also includes performing in the 2021 Christmas concert at the Chamber Music Institute of Darien, the Elm City Chamber Festival in New Haven in 2019, and accompanying the world-famous violinist Midori on harpsichord for the United Nations Youth Day in September 2021.

Besides his interest in music, Andrew is a passionate soccer player.  He plays left back on the SLS varsity team.
